Woke up: 7:30am
Miles traveled: 22 miles
Woke up feeling a little tired and wishing I could lay around in the nice bed a little bit more, but duty calls. I got up and got my things together and headed downstairs to where Brit was preparing me breakfast! Lovely! Thank you!
She made me this delicious oven pancake. It was lifted up on the sides like a bowl and it was fluffy. I put strawberry jam on in and also had a fruit bowl. It was very kind of her to make me breakfast.
We got in her car and we drove away back towards Borden. She pointed out some places where she had considered buying a home, above on the knobs along the Indiana encarbment.
We got back to the library and I had some things I had to take care of. The night before I had found fraudulent charges on m bank account. After talking to the bank I found out that I have to shut down my debt card. Dang. It's all good though, figured I would just use my credit card until I can get things figured out, most places take card and I had some cash to keep me going. No worries. I wonder how my card got out there, over 400 dollars in charges.
Got back pack on and gave Brit a hug goodbye. She was so wonderful, I am extremely grateful for her taking a step out of here comfort zone and taking me in for the night, it was an adventure for the both of us. Thank You!
I walked away towards Corydon, 24 miles away, I wanted to get as close as I could with out completely hitting the city (the places to sleep become limited).
It was a beautiful walk, absolutely beautiful. The clouds had cast a white background across the sky but hanging dispersed along the background were big fluffy clouds. The white in the background disintegrated into the blue sky about midway between the horizon and high noon. It created the perfect backdrop for the farms that I past. The creaks were flowing between the free lush farm land. Rolls of hay and pastures were scattered among the hills. Breath taking.
I reached a town called Greendale and asked a guy walking down the street what was in the town in regards to food. He told me the mini mart was the only thing unless I wanted to walk a bit further. I didn't. I went to check out the mini mart, inside were two ladies smoking cigarets. If they had a bathroom I would have stayed and eat, but I wasnt going to eat more until I could relive myself. They didn't.
I kept walking, a little down a street a car stopped for me with two ladies. They younger one, I'm assuming the daughter, said we have grapefruit vitamin water and a peach from the grove would you like it? She was super cute the way she asked , sure I said, Thank You! They somehow already knew what I was doing! I really appreciated it.
The peach was delicious. Peaches and grapefruit are my favorite, so I was really happy.
Kept walking, walking, walking, walking, and more walking. Was good :-)
Stopped at a church 2 miles outside of the city. Set up my stuff and relaxed. I was beat, it was a hot day and it felt so good just to rest. Read a little then fell asleep.
