Woke up: 8:15am
Miles traveled: 10 miles
Went to bed 11:00pm
Got up, got going. Made it to town and found the ups and picked up my phone. Awesome.
Stopped I at a subway to set everything up. There was a group that just got back from a 5k run that entered the store with me. They were curious about the backpack and the sign and asked me what I was up to. Told them the rundown. They thought it was awesome. I ordered my sub and as I was about to check out Bob, one of the group, said he wanted to pay for my sub. Thank You!
I had to do a bit to set up my phone, so I went at it. Then went to Walmart across the street. I picked up a cheep watch that had a stopwatch and timer on it. This will be a huge help to me, since the only time keeping device I have is my iPad and phone, both remain off for most of the time. Picked up on two days worth of food.
I was still really hungry, and there was another subway in Walmart, so I went for another foot long. Delicious.
I continued my walk towards a trail called the Adventure Hiking Trail that went through the Harrison and Crawford forest.
I got there just a storm came in. It came in fast and hard. Lightening was right above my head giving off monstrous thunder. I was walking down the trail that was in the beginning by a metal fence blocking off private property.
Literally ten feet away from me a lighting bolt hit the fence right in front of me . Never in my life have I been so close to a strike! Wild! It freaked me a little for a second and I stood as close as I could to a tall tree. Lighting was blasting off every few seconds above my head, and the rain started getting really hard! I had to call it a night. I got my tent set up among some trees and went into it soaked. Ripped off my cloths and climbed into my sleeping bag.
I tried to get my phone charged up again but found that my external power pack wasn't working. I guess I would be without my phone tomorrow. Oh well. I'll figure it out. I went to bed after reading a little.
